Women in Reentry Day

In Spring 2019, I collaborated with members of The People's Paper Co-op to create visuals to celebrate Philly’s third annual Women in Re-Entry Day, which were used as protest signs in a rally demanding an end to cash bail, and used as designs for t-shirts and posters to raise money to bail women out of jail in time for Mother’s Day 2019. Because I Was Incarcerated...

In Spring 2018 and 2019, I collaborated with members of The People’s Paper Co-op to create a series of posters that shares their stories as formerly incarcerated women. Each poster works to humanize people that the mainstream media are quick to demonize or not even mention at all. The People’s Paper Co-op used the series in two marches on City Hall to demand an end to cash bail, displayed the posters at Broad Street Ministries, and continues to use the images to combat harmful stereotypes of incarcerated people and returning citizens.

In April 2017, I collaborated with members of Voice of the Experienced (VOTE) to create images for a live, dramatic reading of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Letter from a Birmingham Jail.

Formerly & Currently Incarcerated Women’s Day

In Fall 2017, I worked again with the members of Voice of the Experienced (VOTE) to organize the creation of banners, signs, bags, and other art for a march on New Orleans’ City Hall that celebrated formerly and currently incarcerated women and girls. (Photos courtesy of VOTE)
